Fabulous Craft Project Inspired by Martha Stewart's Home

I am a huge fan of Martha Stewart's breathtaking 153 acre farm in Bedford, NY. One of my favorite hobbies is creating projects with yarn and I am in love with Martha Stewart Crafts with Lion Brand Yarn collection. This beautiful yarn comes in so many fabulous colors and the quality is absolutely superb. I thought I would challenge myself and create an original craft project that I can enjoy for many years to come. It took me several weeks along with many late nights and several skeins of wonderful yarn to complete my project. The result is a beautiful picture called "Martha's House" depicting Martha's 1925 farmhouse (also called the Winter House) and Martha herself holding a wicker basket of her fabulous yarn. I made Martha a yellow summer hat, a blue sweater, blue pants and an ultra plush green scarf. My project also includes pink flowers, grass, sun, blue sky, blue curtains and a large circular stone that is between the rhubarb tile sidewalk. I finished my project by making a green crochet chain and weaved it as a border. Then I took one 48 inch 7/16 wooden dowel and cut two 22 inch pieces, placed each dowel straight across the top and bottom of my the back of my canvas and weaved it into my project with yarn. I took two pieces of yarn and tied it on to each corner of the dowel so I can hang it as wall art. I utilized a clear plastic canvas as my base and worked in each individual square with yarn. The finished project measures 22 inches long X 13 inches wide. I also utilize this plastic canvas for a plethora of other projects such as handbags (interior structure) and innovative latch hook designs. I believe if Martha saw my beautiful craft project she would love it and say it's a "Good Thing!" "Martha's House" currently hangs proudly on my craft room wall. Every time I look at my project it will inspire me to create many more craft projects with Martha Stewart Crafts with Lion Brand Yarn. Have a yarnlicious day!

Spring is in the air and nothing says Spring like cleaning my house! I planted petunias in my vintage wheelbarrow and I must say it looks absolutely amazing! I also finished cleaning my backyard and reorganizing my patio furniture. I finished sowing the soil in my vegetable garden and planted a plethora of flowers in my Shangri-La garden! I cannot wait until May so I can plant my sunflowers, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. My strawberry bush is doing quite well. I just hope my raspberry bush produces fruit this year. Next week I will put out my kumquat and Meyer Lemon trees. Loving this Springalicious weather! Happy Spring everyone!
